FAQs

Our products are unconventional and may raise a question or two. Here are some answers.

What if water spills on my cardboard bed?

No worries! If a spill happens, gently blot the area with a dry cloth - skip any soaps or detergents - and let it air dry. Small amounts of moisture won’t affect the furniture’s strength. Just avoid leaving it wet for long periods, and always check that everything remains stable after any contact with liquid.

How long will my cardboard bed last?

Each piece is designed to be a strong, reliable alternative to traditional furniture. With proper care, you can expect it to last around 10 years, giving you durable performance and lasting comfort.

Why is cardboard furniture more sustainable than traditional furniture?

Our corrugated cardboard furniture is designed with sustainability in mind. It contains 70% recycled material, reducing resource use. When your furniture reaches the end of its life, it’s fully recyclable - just place it in the paper recycling bin. Compared to conventional furniture, it also has a much smaller carbon footprint. For example, the Bett 2.0 uses far less energy, produces significantly lower CO2 emissions, and its lightweight design makes transportation much more climate-friendly.

Shouldn’t cardboard furniture be cheaper?

While ordinary cardboard items like moving boxes are inexpensive, our furniture is in a completely different league. RIAB cardboard furniture is crafted in the USA in small batches using premium corrugated cardboard and carefully assembled for lasting quality. This ensures you get durable, high-quality pieces that are built to enjoy for years - not just a quick, disposable solution.

Do I need a slatted frame for the Bett 2.0?

No, a separate slatted frame isn’t necessary. Simply place your mattress directly on the Bett 2.0. Its rhombus construction and breathable corrugated board allow for proper air circulation.

How quick is the Bett 2.0 setup?

All Bed 2.0 sizes arrive pre-assembled, so setup is minimal and only takes seconds. For Twin through Queen sizes, simply expand the single platform to the correct dimensions and place your mattress on top. For King sizes, expand the two platforms, connect them with the included connectors, and then add your mattress. It’s designed to be fast, easy, and hassle-free.

Can the Bett 2.0 handle activities like sex without collapsing?

Absolutely. The Bett 2.0 is designed to handle everything you’d do on a regular bed, including intimate activities. It’s been extensively tested for long-term durability and comfort. Plus, it’s TÜV-certified in Germany according to DIN EN 1725, meeting strict safety and performance standards.

How does the Bett 2.0 provide proper air circulation?

The corrugated board used in the Bett 2.0 is naturally breathable. Its rhombus construction, along with side slits, allows air to flow freely when the bed is in use. For optimal airflow, we recommend keeping a gap about the width of a hand between the bed and nearby walls - this helps reduce the risk of mold.
